BASIC NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM
In this Illinois-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program, students will work in all types of licensed health care facilities including nursing homes, home health agencies, hospices, hospitals, and intermediate care facilities. The program includes review sessions to prepare for the certification examination.
Spring 2026 Orientation: January 7, 2026
Classes: January 12, 2026–March 20, 2026
Eligibility Requirements:
16 years of age at time of enrollment; 8th grade equivalency in Reading and Math; English as primary language and approved background checks
Students with a high school diploma or GED are eligible.
WIOA Approved:
CNA programs are Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) approved.

The ComEd Craft Academy, offered in partnership with the Chicago Urban League, prepares participants for entry-level careers in the skilled trades, including Overhead Lineman and Construction Worker positions. This pre-apprenticeship program provides hands-on training, safety instruction, and foundational skills needed to succeed in high-demand utility careers.
Program Highlights
Participants receive comprehensive training in workplace safety, OSHA-10 certification, CDL permit preparation, electrical basics, climbing skills, CAST test preparation, and substation work fundamentals. The program is designed for individuals interested in physically active, high-skill roles within the energy sector.
Eligibility Requirements
Successful graduates may qualify for full scholarships to Dawson Technical Institute’s Overhead Electrical Line Worker Program.

The Workforce Empowerment Initiative (WEI) provides eligible Chicago residents with no-cost, fast-track training through the City Colleges of Chicago. Designed to improve employment outcomes for unemployed and under-employed individuals, WEI covers full tuition and books while offering wraparound support—including job training, career placement assistance, childcare and transportation help, and employability skill development.
Programs are available across multiple City Colleges and prepare students for high-demand careers in fields like cybersecurity, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and more—all in under a year. Call 773-COLLEGE to learn more and check eligibility.

Project Evolve at Olive-Harvey College offers Chicago residents tuition-free, fast-track training for high-demand careers. Eligible students receive free tuition and books, transportation and childcare support, career coaching, and stipends up to $500.
Programs include automotive technology, CDL training, cybersecurity, diesel technology, supply-chain logistics, software development, and more. Applicants must be Chicago residents with a high school diploma or equivalent.
